How it works

Go from signup to first filing in four steps

Complete every step yourself, or book a training call for a walkthrough of the portal, bulk entity import, and the API.

1

Create your account

Sign up and accept the FileFormsPro Partner Terms. FileForms provisions your organization in production and staging immediately, at no cost.

2

Copy your API keys

Copy your production and staging keys from Settings, Developer. Read endpoints, authentication, sample payloads, and webhooks at docs.fileforms.com.

3

Build in staging

Send test payloads, check responses, and test error handling in a separate staging deployment. Use synthetic data only.

4

Fund and file

Load a prepaid balance with optional auto top-up and place your first live order by API or dashboard.

What you can file

File every core state filing through one API

Your product places the order. FileForms files with the state, tracks the deadline, and returns the status. See the full catalog on Our Filing Solutions.

FileForms API FAQs

How much does the FileForms API cost?

Signing up, API keys, and staging cost nothing. Pay-as-you-go filings run $149 per annual report or registered agent, per state per year, plus state fees at cost. Fund a $5,000 prepaid balance to move to wholesale rates from $99 per filing. Model your numbers with the ROI calculator.

Can I test the API before I pay anything?

Yes. Production and staging keys are in your account at signup. Build and test in staging for free, and fund a balance only before your first live filing. The FileFormsPro onboarding guide covers each setup step.

Do I need a contract or a sales call to get API access?

No. You accept the FileFormsPro Partner Terms at signup. You do not sign a contract, take a sales call, or pay a licensing fee. If you want help, book a training call for your team.

Can I see the API documentation before I commit?

Yes. Request the API documentation with a short form, or sign up and open the Developer tab, where endpoints, authentication, sample payloads, and webhooks are available at docs.fileforms.com.

How long does a FileForms API integration take?

Most partners complete integration and go live within days to a few weeks, depending on deployment model. FileForms provides REST endpoints, code samples, and implementation guides. Teams that want to file before the integration is done can use the FileFormsPro dashboard.

How does my product know when a filing is complete?

FileForms pulls filing status from the state’s own queue and returns it through the API, so “Pending” and “Completed” in your product match the actual filing. Webhooks are documented at docs.fileforms.com. See every orderable filing on Our Filing Solutions.

Can I load my existing entities in bulk?

Yes. Bulk entity sync sends entity lists from your database or CRM into state filing forms without manual entry. Run the Compliance Health Checker first to see where your entities stand.

What happens if my prepaid balance runs low?

Turn on auto top-up and set a threshold so filings never stop mid-season. FileForms refunds prepaid balances within 90 days of termination, once registered agent representation moves to your new provider. The onboarding guide covers billing setup.

Will my customers see FileForms?

Only if you want them to. Run headless so your product calls the API with no FileForms screen, white-label the portal with your logo and domain, or combine both. You change this in settings, not in a contract. See typical setups on the fintech and SaaS page.

How does FileForms protect client data?

FileForms is SOC 2 certified and encrypts data in transit and at rest. Staging accepts synthetic data only. Details are on the API security page.

What happens if a client ignores an annual report deadline?

Deadline Protection is on for every entity. FileForms sends reminders 60, 30, and 14 days out and, if nobody responds, files the annual report in the final 7 days before the deadline. The client pays state and filing fees. See the annual report filing service.

What support do I get after I go live?

Support runs on a 99.5% availability SLA, with responses within 24 hours of the first business day after a request. You can also book a training call on the portal, bulk import, exception handling, or the API at any time.
